Rose Ilkal Gingham Lehenga Set

Our Ilkal handloom in the softest pink checks, edged with a little universe inspired by Channapatna toys  colorful elephants, peacocks, pigeons, horses, all hand-embroidered like the wooden toys we grew up with.

Woven in Ilkal, embroidered by hand, finished with our elephant potli and green tassels. A lehenga that plays.

The Embroidery

The magic lives at the hem and all around the dupatta. The entire flare of the skirt is bordered with a wide black base panel, hand-embroidered in vivid multicolor thread  a procession of caparisoned elephants, strutting peacocks, pigeons in flight, and prancing horses, each motif drawn from the spirit of Channapatna's painted wooden toys. The same embroidered border wraps all the way around the dupatta, so every drape tells the full story.

• Lehenga skirt — 100% silk Ilkal handloom in soft pink checks; full flare with hand-embroidered black border featuring folk motifs (elephants, peacocks, pigeons, horses) in multicolor thread
• Choli (blouse) — 100% silk Ilkal handloom with folk-embroidered neckline and sleeves; lace-up back with tassel ties
• Dupatta — 100% silk Ilkal handloom with hand-embroidered folk border running all the way around all four edges
