Where Eight Centuries Meet a New Silhouette
A stunning handwoven silk lehenga set rooted in Karnataka's rich handloom heritage. This three-piece ensemble features a richly woven skirt in teal, charcoal, and magenta with intricate zari borders, paired with a coordinating blouse and a magenta dupatta adorned with gold zari work.
This is Karnataka patchwork not a print, not an approximation. Ilkal checks (woven with the pallu knotted separately to the body, as they have been for centuries), north Karnataka stripes, and a gold zari border arrived at our Bangalore atelier as yardage and sarees. Each piece was cut, matched, and finished by hand into this lehenga silhouette.
The colors pomegranate, peacock, parrot are the old temple palette. They fight, but they don't clash. That tension is the point. It has been since the 8th century. We're just giving it a new form.
