Rooted in the royal iconography of Karnataka, this ivory Ilkal handloom silk saree is a rare canvas of Kasuti hand embroidery at its most ceremonial. The cream silk body is scattered with all-over Kasuti motifs in deep violet thread  the majestic Gandaberunda (double-headed eagle), royal elephants, and delicate floral sprigs each stitch placed by hand in the traditional running-stitch technique. The pallu carries a dense panel of the same motifs in a grand repeat, anchored by a broad magenta and gold zari border with a temple-pattern hem and tassel finish.
