A masterpiece of Karnataka's living textile heritage, this Neyda Kathe Anarkali Set is handwoven by master weavers from Ilkal, Karnataka — one of India's most celebrated handloom traditions.

The Craft

Ilkal sarees and garments have been woven in the Ilkal region of Bagalkot district, Karnataka, for over 3,000 years. Recognised with a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, the Ilkal weave is distinguished by its signature Kondi joining technique, where the body and pallu are woven separately and then interlocked — a skill passed down through generations of weaver families.

This anarkali set showcases the iconic Ilkal check weave in a rich violet silk base, with the characteristic zari border running along the hem and cuffs — a hallmark of authentic Ilkal craftsmanship. The contrasting royal blue dupatta is woven in fine silk with delicate zari bootis and a gold border, reflecting the region's mastery of colour and texture.
