Rooted in the ancient weaving traditions of Ilkal, Karnataka, the Vana Kathe Palazzo Set is a celebration of handloom cotton at its most refined. Woven by skilled artisans in the Bagalkot district, this set carries the living legacy of a craft that has flourished for over three millennia.

The Craft

Ilkal handloom cotton is distinguished by its fine, breathable weave and the iconic checked body — here rendered in a deep forest green that evokes the shade of Karnataka's sacred groves. The fabric is woven entirely by hand on traditional pit looms, with each metre taking hours of meticulous work. The signature zari borders in mustard, crimson, and gold run along the hem, cuffs, and dupatta edges — a hallmark of authentic Ilkal weaving, protected under a Geographical Indication (GI) tag.

The set is further elevated with hand-embroidered zari work at the neckline — intricate floral and geometric motifs crafted by hand, adding a layer of artisanal richness to the woven base.

The Silhouette

The anarkali kurta features a graceful flared silhouette with a deep open back, finished with a decorative tassel. Paired with wide-leg palazzo pants in the same Ilkal check, the set moves beautifully and is designed for both comfort and occasion dressing. The matching dupatta echoes the zari border detailing for a cohesive, editorial look.
